Objects collected and crafted during a four month stay in Berlin were used to make these drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Found things, things rescued from becoming trash, sought after things, a stone, a stick, a tiny plastic foot, or a leaky hot water bottle, became answers to finishing an artwork, or reasons new ones were started. I responded to their characteristics, intertwined them with abstracted depictions of bodily forms, and arranged them with physical humor in mind. The work always refers to the object as a figure and the figure as an object, intentionally playing with limits of distinction between “body”and “thing”.
